The Wrangler Jeans Story

Wrangler Jeans are manufactured by a company that is more than 100 years old. Wrangler Jean Co. is owned by the VF Corporation, who also owns dozens of other brands, such as Lee, The North Face, and JanSport. The companys headquarters are located in Greensboro, North Carolina, with many production plants all over the world.
People have often wondered how Wrangler Jeans got its claim to fame with the rodeo. Wrangler Jeans were first made by Blue Bell, who acquired the brand when it took over Casey Jones in the mid 1940s. Blue Bell hired a man by the name of Bernard Lichtenstein, who was a Polish tailor to help design jeans that would be good for using during rodeos. Lichtenstein worked closely with cowboys often, and was considered the clothing expert.

From Lichtenstein and his knowledge of the rodeo and the design of jeans that were needed came the birth of Wrangler Jeans. The first style, the 13MWZ style is still available worldwide, and was first introduced in 1947. Wrangler Jeans since has expanded to produce several other lines that cater to specific demographic groups. These lines include Riggs, Aura for women, and 20X. In addition, Wrangler Jeans also has a complete line of accessories for music that is geared towards country music fans.

The parent company of Wrangler Jeans, the VF Corporation, is structured by coalitions, like the Imagewear Coalition, the Sportswear Coalition, and the Jeanswear Coalition. The Jeanswear coalition consists of Wrangler Jeans, 20X, RIGGS Workwear, Lee, Riders, Brittania, and Rustler. Although the parent company of Wrangler Jeans is best known for its jeans and has expanded to make everything from shoes to coats, the company started out as a glove and mitten manufacturer.

A man named John Barbey opened a factory in 1899 in Reading, PA. The company added undergarments to its list of items in 1919 and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1966. The company didnt get into the denim business until 1969 when it bought H.D. Lee Jeans. That same year, the company changed its name from Vanity Fair Mills to the VF Corporation to lessen the emphasization of the underwear line.

In 1986, the parent of Wrangler Jeans made a giant move when it bought Blue Bell. By doing this, the company doubled its size and added Rustler Jeans, Wrangler Jeans, JanSport backpacks, and Jantzen swimwear to what was by then an incredibly diverse line of products and goods.

Melbourne Fashion Photography and Location Scouting

As a Melbourne Fashion Photographer I come across a lot of photography locations as well as clients seeking bizarre and new locations for their next shoot. The city of Melbourne is a city of roughly 3 to 4 million people and is quite young in comparison to many European cities. The architecture reflects this and it can sometimes be a challenge finding location for clients that fill certain criteria that is more suited to Europe. With fashion photography we often try and sell a story. The photos needs to convey a mood and feelings. It is the photographers that need to -dress up- the clothes with something more. Fashion photography then draws on sets, locations, props and models to create something that will engage the viewer and the clients know this. A sun-filled morning in an old house may speak about softness, comfort and natural beauty, whereas or cold and stark warehouse might convey strength or a darker edge.

Melbourne has warehouses and sun filled houses. What we lack is the castles, the mountains and the snow. We lack some of the charm of the 18th century architecture which photographs beautifully. Sure, locations exist but they are usually photographically exhausted by many photographers and clients. We do have beaches, some forests, lakes and, you guessed it, more beaches.

So the search for fashion photography locations in Melbourne can be quite tedious, especially when it comes to building and interior locations. We don’t have many Hollywood-Hills style mansions or Scottish Castles. Luckily location scouts have made this easier by embarking on tracking down every last photo opportunity through manually scouting, word of mouth and sometimes even set-building them from scratch. I find the fact that Australia in general being so large, it can be time consuming finding locations so these photography location scouts can be invaluable and great time savers.

Ultimately, if time is on your side I would suggest scouting the inner suburbs of Melbourne yourself. Take photos, explore and get a feel for the vast range of alleys and warehouses available to photograph. Travelling into rural areas might see you only visiting one or two photo spots before realising you have spent the entire day driving.

Fashion clients budgets are definitely not what they used to be so finding locations quickly and cost effectively is important and as a fashion photographer I need to help my clients do this fast. Scouting companies is what I use in most cases. Occasionally I will explore myself if it is local or time permits to venture further. Of course, whilst on fashion assignments it’s always important to keep an eye out and take lots of photos of your surroundings, not just in Melbourne but where ever you venture. You never know what you might see and when you might need it.

If you are a client looking at shooting in Melbourne I would suggest a local photographer who has ties with good location agents to help you out.

The Treatment Of Angular Cheilitis Is Easy

We all anticipate the summer, but it is inevitable that we have to go through winter first before we get back the sun. Now, the winter months aren’t really all that bad. After all, there is the snow, which is always fun. The way that the snow blankets the whole place is oddly heartwarming, somehow signifying that Christmas is once again just around the corner. Winter is also the perfect time to break out once again our jackets and sweaters, and also those boots that we kept in the closet for so long. So, while it is perfectly understandable for most people to desire the coming of the summer months during those cold winter nights, we should still recognize all the nice things that winter brings.

However, despite the great things that winter brings, it also comes with a few pressing problems. One such problem is angular cheilitis. What is angular cheilitis? Basically, it is just like chapped lips gone badly. Aside from just chapped lips, angular cheilitis can also manifest itself as cracking at the corners of a person’s mouth. These usually occur during the winter, since your body dehydrates faster and you are left with fewer fluids in your body. Should you forget to treat it immediately, you are risking having your chapped lips worsen.

What is the treatment for angular cheilitis? That is what we will be looking into right now.

A good angular cheilitis treatment is to simply drink lots of water everyday. It has been said many times before that people should drink around a gallon of water each day in order to keep the body healthy. Therefore, it would then follow that it prevents chapped lips. Though drinking a gallon every single day is definitely hard, just being able to drink even half of that amount is already very helpful. Aside from drinking water, you could also try putting lip balm in the infected area to soothe the pain and close the wounds.

So, we can see that the treatment of angular cheilitis is not really that complicated. You just have to follow all the things that we have been told all our lives, basically. So, there really is no excuse for to be constantly having chapped lips or mouth cracks anymore. We are now well aware that if we just drink lots of water and minimize the stress in our lives, then we are going to be able to enjoy more the wintertime.

What You Need to Know About the Basics of SEO Friendly Web Design

It isn’t enough to have a visually stunning website. All those stunning graphics will not attract your target audience in large enough numbers for you to get a return on your investment. You need to ensure that your website can be easily found. There is no better way to do this than making it more visible to search engines.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is a term used to describe the process through which websites are made more visible to popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. There are various tools and methods of making a website SEO friendly. The following are some of the basics.

Effective use of keywords

It takes more than just selecting the right keywords for your website; you also need to ensure that they are used effectively. Effective will ensure that keywords are spread throughout the website. The keywords should be used in page titles, subheadings, in the main body, text for images and just about everywhere else.

The keywords should fit naturally into the content to avoid penalties by search engines. They should also not be overused to avoid keyword stuffing.

SEO friendly URL

URLs are just as important as the content on the website. However, they are often overlooked during the design process. A good web design Birminghamcompany will ensure that it includes keywords in your URL to make it SEO friendly.

For example, if you were selling t-shirts and wanted to target sports fans, you may have chosen the keywords -sports t-shirts’ for your website. These should be included in your URL too to ensure that it is easily picked up by search engines. The URL should be www.companywebsitename.com/sports-t-shirts/ as opposed to www.companywebsitename.com/86749002.

Use social media

An effective web design company UKwill integrate social media in your SEO campaign. Ensure that the information and articles on your website are shared on social media websites. If this information is shared by more people it will build trust in others and eventually draw people to your website.

SEO friendly images

Optimisation is not reserved for text. You also need to optimise your images. Use smaller file sizes for images and ensure that you include keywords in the alternative text. The descriptions you use for the images should also be relevant. Ensure that you also use relevant keywords in the descriptions.

How To Build An Effective Music Composer’s Website

A composer’s website is their portal to the rest of the world. A website serves to keep your audience up to date on your work, act as your all-purpose 24/7 representative, and stores valuable media such as recordings, photographs, and biographical information for programming and press outlets. Having a quality website is essential to building your music career in an ever growing e-world. Here are a few important things to consider when building your site:

1. Choose a clean-cut, easy to navigate design for your site that allows visitors to easily learn about you and your music.

2. Display your activity by posting dates of recent and upcoming performances of your work.

3. Make sure your catalog always contains your most recently completed work. This is the most effective way to let performers find works for their instrument.

4. Provide both a brief and full biography on separate pages detailing people you’ve worked with, press clippings, etc. You’ll be surprised how often a short biography these come in handy.

5. Have at least three excerpts of music for visitors to listen to in an accessible format such as a high quality mp3.

6. Social networking sites are active arenas of musical activity so post links in profiles on such sites. Participate in the action!

7. Use a professional sounding contact address that is easy to remember. Get rid of that old guitarguru 44 @ yahoo.com email address you’ve probably had since you were 12 and use your business name or formal name.

A website that meets the guidelines mentioned above will undoubtedly boost your career. As a final note however, remember that while your website’s goal is to portray you as a pro in the field don’t be afraid to show a bit of your stellar personality. Professionalism is great, but you are most likely to be successful if you also interest people in a personal way.

Good luck!

Which Ingredients Make Good Pet Foods?

When you are considering which pet food to choose for your pet the most important consideration should always be the ingredients. The quality of the ingredients are what truly set premium foods apart from the poorer grades of foods.

When you look at a pet food label the ingredients are required to be listed in order of weight or predominance in the food. However, this can be slightly misleading. This is weight prior to processing. This means that if whole chicken is used in the food it may be listed first in the ingredient list, which sounds very appealing to the customer. Whole chicken contains a great deal of moisture. By the time the chicken is processed it weighs much less. For this reason, some people prefer to see things like chicken meal, or lamb meal in the first few spots in the ingredient list since these ingredients have already had the moisture removed from them prior to weighing for use in making the pet food.

According to the respected Whole Dog Journal, and other sources, for dogs it’s good to see multiple sources of animal protein in the first five ingredients of a premium dog food. It’s especially important to have a good source of protein in the first couple of ingredients. The exception would be with foods that are sold as pre-mixes, such as dehydrated or freeze dried foods, which are intended to be supplemented with protein sources by the owner. In these cases you would not expect to see protein sources among the first few ingredients.

Many concerned owners look for the following in their pet foods:

You should avoid generic ingredients such as “meat meal” or “animal fat.” Instead look for named sources such as beef fat, chicken fat, lamb meal, fish, etc.

Look for human grade, USDA approved ingredients. Pet food cannot, by law, be sold for human consumption, but look for companies that are committed to using human grade ingredients. You can also seek out hormone- and antibiotic-free meats. All poultry is already raised hormone-free in the U.S. but other meats are not necessarily raised this way unless specified.

Try to avoid foods that use corn gluten meal and other glutens. Many dogs are allergic to corn. Corn gluten is often a cheap protein filler and waste product from other industries. There can be similar problems with wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate, which are also used as fillers.

Avoid “meat by-products” and “meat digests.” When reading pet food labels look for specific, named sources of protein, such as lamb, chicken, tuna, beef, and so on. The term “meat” is a catch-all phrase that allows the pet food industry to be very unspecific about what kind of meat it’s using, so you don’t know what you could be feeding your pet.

There’s also a vast difference in preparation between “whole” chicken, chicken “meal,” chicken “by-products,” and chicken “digests.” Each term describes different preparation and parts of the chicken used. As a consumer and pet owner, you want to purchase foods which rely primarily on whole foods and meals. These are the foods which are closest to their original, live form and contain the most nutrition. By-products and digests contain necks, feet, intestines and other parts of the animal that you would not consider fit for human consumption.

Many foods may contain these ingredients as well as the more premium ingredients. But the primary ingredients you should look for should be whole foods and meals made from named meat sources.

Avoid BHA, BHT and Ethoxyquin. These are artificial preservatives and often used in poor quality foods. Ethoxyquin is banned in foods for human consumption except as a color preservative in spices.

Avoid artificial colors, sugars and sweeteners.

Another thing to watch for on the ingredient list is “splitting” — many times an ingredient such as corn is split into multiple listings — ground yellow corn, corn gluten meal, and other corn sources. Singly they are not a big presence, but added together, corn can become the biggest ingredient in your dog’s diet.

Taurine was added to cat foods in the 1970s when cats began going blind and dying due to taurine deficiencies. Dogs were thought not to need taurine but now links are being found that suggest they do require it. Some companies have begun adding it to dog foods.

Many people also prefer to buy from companies that have U.S.-grown ingredients. This isn’t simply patriotism. The United States has some of the strictest regulations in the world for growing and manufacturing foods. Some companies list the source of their ingredients on their Web sites but it is more difficult to find out this information from other companies.

Some people prefer to feed their pets so-called “exotic” protein diets — venison, buffalo, duck, trout, etc. They may be trying to find foods that won’t trigger allergies in their pets. In general, it’s considered good advice to avoid feeding your dog (or cat) such unusual proteins unless he or she already has an allergy problem. If your pet does well on a more common protein it’s a good idea to stick with it and save the exotic proteins for a time when it’s needed. That way you know you have some options if you run into problems. If your pet should develop an allergy to the exotic proteins you would have nowhere to go.

High protein diets are very popular at the moment. The old ideas about excessive protein possibly harming your pet’s kidneys seem to have been debunked. However, if you wish to try a high protein diet, or one of the new grain-free diets, make sure that you find a food that has the AAFCO Nutritional Adequacy statement. You want to make sure that you are feeding a food that is nutritionally balanced.

Indoor Skiing – Does It Compare To The Real Thing

Some people have never heard of indoor skiing, although most cities will have a center if you care to look around yours. It’s fun and extreme like the regular, outdoor variety, but participants are provided with an artificial area where there is also snow and slopes that they can use to whoosh around.

Skiing is a hugely fun activity that can be done by anyone as long as they have the proper training and experience, and learning inside is an excellent way to get that experience. Indoor skiing is usually done by using a blade that is strapped to the feet of the skier. Then they use snow slopes as a leverage where they can gain speed and glide through the snow.

This is also known to be much safer than doing it in the wild because the terrain is very safe and comfortable. But, there are also rough terrains where extreme skiers can practice their skill and moves.

You should always practice first at a center before you engage in the real thing because some of the outdoor skiing terrains are very dangerous and it’s the real thing, which can be quite cold and scary. Indoor skiing is perfect for beginners and newbies who are just learning to ski.

Although the experiences provided by the man made slopes are not the same as the regular outdoor skiing, it has many benefits and advantages that outdoor skiing doesn’t provide.

One of the advantages of indoor skiing is it is very cheap and affordable because the ski centres don’t charge anywhere near what a normal instructor would charge. Another benefit is that skiing indoors is very safe and relaxing because the area and slopes are not very dangerous, high or steep. Another great benefit of indoor skiing is that there are instructors and professional skiers that will teach you if you’re not yet an expert in skiing. Skiers can also rent ski equipment from the centre for pretty reasonable prices. Another great advantage that indoor skiing provides to the skier is that they can practice all they want even in night time. They can hone their skiing abilities that will prepare them for competitions and events.

These inside slopes are like large sports centers but the only sport that can be done inside is skiing, snowboarding, and even sledding. This is all made possible by snow cannons that provide the artificial snow inside the centre. The whole experience is specially designed to provide the same experience as skiing outdoors. These places also have competitions and events that can be awesome fun for learners and pros alike.

Although indoor skiing may not provide the same extreme experience that the real thing provides, people find it much safer and exciting rather than facing the real slopes.

Monkey Suit

Be yourself and do your best”, I believe that the previous comment has been one of the foundations of any motivational speaker and all the “feel good” movies starring Adam Sandler; unfortunately I’m beginning to discover that this is not real, and that lying and deception are the keys to success. What makes these awful qualities complete is the right wardrobe, and what better attire to use in deception than the “Monkey Suit”.

According to urban slang a monkey suit is “a uniform that one wears to work every day”. Well, when you think about it, you live in a concrete jungle with tall buildings and you’re climbing these buildings and swinging from office to office to get those bananas at the end of the month… Hence: Monkey Suit. Now that we have passed the cartoon images in my head, let’s see what started this topic. Nobody can deny that suits look good, and they can turn heads in meetings and sometimes seal some deals, but the glorified status that the suits have taken compared to the employee’s actual work is very weird.

Society today perceive a person on the way they look, their attitude, sense of humor and showing up early as a sign of discipline (Trained Monkey) and far down the list your actual work lays there; Well not that far but its nowhere near the top. If anyone is familiar with the show “Suits”, there is a character who is a drug dealer but wears a 2000$ suit and no one would ever suspect he is a drug dealer. It’s amazing what this monkey suit can do to people. Now comes the hard question budgeting the bananas you get at the end of the month to buy new suits and still have some left to make yourself a nice banana milk shake at the end of the day for you to enjoy? A real brow raiser. Can I just buy a monkey and leave the suit? It would be cheaper and a heck lot funnier.

Finally, we need to review our priorities in life and begin to digest that the man or woman make the suit not the other way around. And what better way to end this than with a quote from William Arnot a Scottish preacher and theological writer in the 1800s, “If honor be your clothing, the suit will last a lifetime; but if clothing be your honor, it will soon be worn threadbare.”
