My new favorite kitchen appliance!

The 3-in-1 Hot-Beverage Center uses one cup, no wastefulness. You can make a mug with 8 to 14 oz. of water measured in the graduated water reservoir. You put water in until you see the water touch the inverted steps for each size mug. This is very helpful in filling either a traditional coffee mug or a larger travel mug. You also use much less coffee (a tablespoon or two) per day, so your coffee will last longer. Speaking of travel mugs… the slide-out pedestal for a mug can be removed or pushed in to allow more clearance for a travel mug. Otherwise the pedestal helps keep a cup close to eliminate any splashing. Everything is washable. Simply dump out my grinds and rinse the basket and pour spout in the sink. It is plastic, but it’s no slump. I use mine daily and haven’t once felt like I was going to break. I keep mine next to the stove so it catches some spatter, however, it wipes clean very easily.

There is no timer in Hamilton Beach. Not that I really need one, since it makes a cup in 2-3 minutes, but I guess some people do not want to wait when they get up. All you do is push the button down, let it work, and then it automatically shuts off. If you need to shut it off in the during the cycle, though… be ready to unplug it. That’s your only option (even the manual says so).

The permanent metal filter is questionable. The first couple weeks I felt like there was too much sediment in my coffee. I was pretty turned off by it, leaving the last few sips. Since they don’t make paper filters that little, I just bought a pack of the traditional basket filters and cut out circles to fit. A pair of kitchen shears can do at least 20 at a time. Now I make my coffee with a paper filter inside the metal basket and voila–no more sediment!

Now, this is not going to brew as fast as one of those K-cup systems that brew in 15 seconds, but I have patience. It will brew you a pleasant hot mug of coffee in 2 to 3 minutes. The receptacle that the cup sits on is reversible to that you can place a travel cup under it. Using pods in this brewer is a easy. For best brewing, you will want to leave the filter in, and place the pod in the filter, flat side up. One pod is just fine for a daily cup of coffee, and two for a travel cup. I use the Senseo pods, since I feel they roast some really good coffee beans. I get the same quality mug of coffee every time. When I am making some tea, it brews it nice and strong, just the way I like it.

Cushioned Kitchen Gel Mats Add Great Comfort

If one part of the body is suffering, then all the other parts will be affected badly as well. Specifically, if our feet ache and are in pain, then this can and indeed does have a major effect on the rest of our body. Our knees will throb as our abnormal gait forces a bigger amount of strain upon them. Our lower back will also be dragged into this beastly equation as the muscles pull and tug at it more strenuously to compensate for the weight on the knees.

In short, a problem with the lower body can quickly escalate and spread to the other parts of the body if it is left untreated. Whether you have or wish to prevent arthritis or another foot disorder, cushioned kitchen floor mats are your ally in this objective. They can provide great relief from added pressure on the joints when standing for prolonged time periods.

What exactly is it about these kitchen gel mats that make them so effective in warding off the myriad of health risks and complaints that may come knocking on our door? Our feet have an unusual and very specific design. The way in which the foot functions is very similar to a see-saw. When we step forward, our heel lands on the surface and acts as an anchor. Then, our toes push upwards to get the foot to propel forward.

When we stand for prolonged periods of time on a hard surface, we are placing a major amount of pressure on a small section of the foot. Therefore, cushioned kitchen floor mats allow the weight and pressure to be evenly distributed throughout the foot, thereby ensuring that we do not end up suffering undue strain and damage.

Kitchen gel mats are often used in many homes around the world. When choosing your gel mats, make sure that you opt for those that have a non slip surface and bottom. The last thing you want to do is replace one set of potential risks with another set! The gel pro mats are a very good choice for ones with non slip surfaces. They are simple to clean as well. The good ones have an anti microbial surface treatment too.

There are a number of different cushioned kitchen floor mats, although kitchen floor mats which are gel based are especially beneficial for people with foot and lower extremity issues. These will allow for better weight distribution while on your feet. You will be the talk of the town when neighbors and relatives stop by and see how great your new gel mats are. The best prices for these mats are usually found on the internet with free shipping. This way you do not have to pay tax or shipping costs and it will be cheaper than if purchased in the store.

As much as possible, maintain a spacious area, so that you can work on without obstructions and delay. Here are some of the common kitchen layouts for your kitchen:

Single-wall

Sometimes called straight kitchen, this is recommended for smaller house where the space is limited. It is attached to one side of the wall, so that the remaining space can be fully maximized. However, you can still enhance its storage capacity by adding pull-out drawers on the counter.

Corridor

Galley is the other name for corridor kitchen where the work stations are parallel with each other. This is another way to enhance space because it provides center aisle where you can move around; thus, commercial kitchen often utilize this type of layout. This is because chefs can have unobstructed footwork even during peak hours.

L-shaped

This type of kitchen is a popular choice for most homeowners who have long, open room because it is so versatile that the cook can work at the same time entertain guests with just one turn. This is the most ideal layout because maneuvering is not a problem at all.

U-shaped

If you want to have a multiple work area, U-shaped is best for you. This set-up also gives you sufficient storage space where you can place cooking essentials both on top and below the counters. This is perfect if you have lots of cooking appliances to display such as microwave, toaster, rice cooker, and the more.

G-shaped

Although, it provides moving space that is almost the same as the u-shaped, the only difference is the narrow passageway. This is perfect if want to create a more private cooking space away from onlookers since the limited point of entry prevents them from getting in and out easily.

Island style

With just one counter located at the center of the room, this requires less travelling around since everything you need are just within reach such as the sink, appliances, and storage. Household traffic is greatly minimized because there are two lanes for everybody to move around.

Whatever layout you choose, you need to consider comfort on top of everything. Do not just copy what you see on home magazines; instead build a place that facilitates ease.

How You Can Organize The Kitchen Area

One of the parts of the home that are most prone to clutter is the kitchen. If you have a rather small house or apartment where many things appear to be kept there, you might have a very big problem. However all problems have a solution, including the country’s messiest room. Just adhere to the suggestions below and observe the transformation.

1. Make great use of vertical space
If your kitchen area is quite confined, do not look down at the ground area and wish it could possibly become bigger. Instead, look up. You see those walls? Those are excellent locations to keep things and hold objects. Go rush to the nearby diy store and mount a number of wall mount organizers that will allow you to keep things like mugs, utensils, pots and pans, containers, and a couple of additional items on it. Simply make sure they’re tough, dependable, and quite useful.

2. Analyze what’s within your cabinets
Cabinets are important structures in a cooking area. They are where you keep a number of items, particularly the things you would like to keep out of plain sight. And mostly as a result of that, many people are guilty of tossing items into the kitchen cabinets or drawers and then forgetting about them for a very long time. Organize your kitchen by clearing out the cabinets and keeping like things with each other. Set up additional dividers into each of them to make best use of area.

3. Group appliances and tools according to functions
Put food preparation utensils and home appliances with each other in one corner of the kitchen. All cleaning instruments, on the other hand, need to be placed in another corner. Each thing used for food preparation ought to be put on the countertop or someplace near it. When it comes to your cleaning instruments, it is best that you install a mop and broom holder in a more discreet location so you can quickly grab them when the need arises.

4. Designate a space for everything
Make sure that even the tiniest item kept in the kitchen area has its own spot. This way, you’ll know where it is when you need it. Kitchens become jumbled because there seems to be too many items in it and too many things that are going on it at the same time. So as soon as you’re done cooking food, prepping, or whatever it is that you’re doing, place things back in their proper locations– and do not miss anything.

5. Set a general cleaning day
The kitchen area is the area of your home that has to be kept tidy at all times. A once-a-month all-around cleaning and re-organizing will suffice. An “all-around” cleaning must encompass everything. Clear the fridge of leftovers. Wash the sink. Scrub the walls and floor to glossy flawlessness. Arrange cabinet food, etc to a tee. All these and more you should do on a specified day each month.

Digital Kitchen Scale

A digital kitchen scale can provide you with an opportunity to learn exactly what you’re consuming and this is especially helpful when it comes to trying to lose extra weight. A food scale can allow you to easily keep track of the amount of food you are consuming from day to day, so that you can keep your calorie consumption in check.

For example you can measure out pasta for dinner, lean meat for soups and salads, or dairy products when baking. If you are in the market for an effective digital kitchen scale, consider investing in one that incorporates one or more of the following features.

Make sure it’s a Digital Kitchen Scale

A food scale might be less expensive when it isn’t digital, but the problem is that it usually won’t offer as accurate of a reading as a digital kitchen scale will. If you do choose a manual food scale, you will probably find that it needs to be replaced sooner than later.

This results in the spending even more money than you thought you saved by not going digital in the first place. This doesn’t mean that you have to spend a ton of money for a quality digital scale but it’s probably best not to buy the cheapest option you can find on the market.

Demand a Big Platform

Don’t get sucked into purchasing a digital kitchen scale that won’t give you enough room to weigh your food. You might think that you only want to use it for small amounts of food (like butter or rice) at first, but chances are that you will find numerous ways to use your food scale.

In fact you may even want to incorporate a bowl or other dishes when weighing things on the scale, so you’ll need a decent sized platform for this. As long as the weighing platform is at least the size of a bowl top, you shouldn’t have much trouble with it.

Make it Light Weight

There is no need to go big and bulky when investing in a . You will want a model that’s not only easy to clean but that can easily be stored just about anywhere in your kitchen. While you do need a decent sized scale to get the job done, make sure it isn’t too have to lug in and out of cupboards if need be.

Have an Open Mind

Some food scale options come with bowls, come bulky, come flat like a bathroom scale, and come in many different colors. Additionally, some digital kitchen scales may even provide neat features that others won’t. So when shopping for a scale, make sure to have a look at everything available before making a final decision. If you don’t know what’s available, you might not be making the bet choice for your needs.

Things to remember when choosing your bespoke kitchen

So you’re finally here, about to begin the exciting journey of choosing and designing your bespoke kitchen. It’s likely that this has been on your mind a while, unless you’ve just moved in and are looking to improve a kitchen you’ve inherited.

But when it comes to kitchen design, there’s so much to consider. Not only are there your needs to be reconciled with the character of the property you inhabit your bespoke kitchen also needs to be functional and have the wow factor too!

That’s a lot to think about, so where do you begin?

What is your kitchen used for?

The kitchen of the home is far more than the place where food is prepared and the washing up is done; it’s the focal point of the house. Just take the kitchen table: as well as being the place where the family sit down to eat, it might be the place you sit down for discussions, where you entertain, where homework is reluctantly done, where you have a cuppa and chat when your neighbour drops in.

The fridge is not just for preserving perishable food it’s the place where messages are left, where reminders are placed. Your kitchen and its component parts are much more than just drawings on a plan, they’re places where you will live your life.

So before rushing into choosing and designing your kitchen, take a good look at who uses it, what it’s used for, or what you’d like to be able to use it for that you can’t at present.

Planning

When designing your kitchen, it’s also important not to get carried away with being too “”design-y””. When talking to a professional kitchen designer, remember to ground your design in the functional and practical where are the service points in your kitchen? Can they be retained (recommended if at all possible as it can add substantially to your budget to relocate them)?
Most kitchens will have significant space restraints meaning storage is at a premium, and remember that the thoroughfares between the cooker, sink and fridge ought to be kept clear as well.

Style the devil’s in the details

Whether it’s a bespoke chic, contemporary kitchen with a white minimalist finish; or the handmade kitchen in the country cottage, it’s the little touches that can make all the difference.
It could be an innovative storage solution, it might be a set of striking taps whatever it is, these are the little touches that make your kitchen a place you (and your friends) want to spend time in.

But of course, when it comes to bespoke kitchen design you’re not the only customer. Your kitchen has to be congruous with your home, it has to respect it, enhance it. A good kitchen designer can help you with that.
